How Does Music Therapy Work?
There’s innate musical ability resides in every one of us-- a trained music therapist evokes such
ability to reach beyond the barrier of various disabilities. Because of its non-threatening and fun
nature of music making, people of all ages, regardless of their physical and mental abilities can feel
safe to express themselves in music. Once the connection is established, therapist begin to work
further by using many forms and styles of music which suits to the individual student’s liking/capacity
thus engage individual to achieve his/her clinical goals.
Activities involve instrumental/vocal improvisation, singing, songwriting, listening and moving to music.
While participating in an active, fun music making experience, student naturally develops his/her ability
in communication, social, emotional, and physical skills.
We have helped autistic children who speak and make eye contacts with ease; emotionally intense
teenagers channel their energy and express their inner turmoil into songs and musical performances.
Our music therapists are board certified and our facility is completely handicapped accessible.
